The Other Building

Loures, Portugal

The proposal creates an identity, detaching itself from the set of existing buildings. The concept is based on establishing a relationship between the building and the lezíria, creating permanent relationships between the interior to be projected and the exterior, making the best use of its position and location. The solution of functional organization of each fire, separated social areas and private areas, which was materialized through an “imaginary” dividing line, which is positioned in the entrance circulation of each fire, immediately establishing a direct relationship between the interior and the exterior, through the proposed glazing in the façade.

The social spaces are extended to the outside, through balconies that run along the perimeter of the building almost in their entirety, assuming the protagonism in the architectural language of the project, reinforcing the connection between interior and exterior.
